Considerations When Choosing Contract Furniture Part One

When Selecting furniture for your project there are many things to consider, first people often think about how they want their furniture to look. With a new setting you have more flexibility to be able to let the paint, lighting, artwork, flooring and fixtures connect and flatter your new additions, however you are a little more restricted if you are simply replacing the furniture as the new pieces need to fit in well with the current environment so models should be chosen which are harmonious with this in their style. Often researching projects which are similar to yours or which you are striving to be more like are very helpful when choosing styles and can give you some sometimes much needed inspiration.

Another aspect to consider is the lead time, if you are restricted with your lead time(your project is launching in 3 weeks for example) this restricts the options we can offer you greatly, as the majority of our furniture is made to order usually with a lead time of 4-6 weeks. We do often source items to meet tighter dead lines and also squeeze our manufacturing in as quickly as we can. But if you are thinking about investing in some new furniture, lighting, bespoke items or soft furnishings it is important to enquire sooner rather than later to allow yourself maximum choice!

Traffic is a very important element of any commercial interior design, all of our products are manufactured for contract use which means they pass the strict fire regulations as well being built to last heavy traffic such as that found in a busy restaurant or café. Upholstery material is also very much connected with the idea of traffic and style as certain upholstery materials such as faux leather are great for very high traffic, but a velvet would be better suited to being used in a quieter area or just upholstering the back of an armchair for example which will not be touched much but can still be enjoyed to look at. We have many fabric, leather or faux leather options and happily work with clients chosen suppliers as well to remain completely unrestricted. Still in the realms of traffic, table top finishes and shapes should be considered for maximum flexibility of layout and suitable durability for their environment.

Furniture For The Art Deco Trend

Art Deco is one interiors trend that has been around in recent years but is still not super main stream which is why we think its a really interesting choice for Hotels and Restaurants, it is quite a daring look to go for, but as with any trend in interiors we are able to offer a subtle solution such as the odd chair or accessory, up to the client who wants the entire look. Our Tristan collection features models which fit this trend perfectly from the curving and geometrical shapes and lines to the metallic finishes.

Art Deco is thought of as decadent and classical which is what makes it quite a striking look when completed 100%, but we believe our models from Tristan, some of which are shown here are still pretty versatile, suiting more pared down projects, all manufactured to order in the clients own choice of fabric, faux or real leather as well as multiple wood and metal finishes.

Lots of our Tristan models are available in bronze, brass and copper especially the table bases, this can be a great feature on its own to stand out in an otherwise simple restaurant project. We are able to supply samples of the wood and metal finishes as well as fabrics, faux and real leathers so that our clients can make the final decision with everything they need. Soft Furnishings - The Finishing Touch to your Project

Although we primarily supply furniture, we also offer soft furnishing, lighting, and accessory solutions for your Hotel, Restaurant or Pub interior. This blog post outlines how we can solve your soft furnishing problems. We are able to pretty much offer you anything you may need, we have a workshop on site in which we manufacture soft furnishings and reupholster furniture, this means as we are not paying someone else we are able to offer our furnishings at good prices.

Often we get asked for cushions, seat pads, and window treatments, these we manufacture in contract standard fabric and the necessary foam, there are lots of options available and we are happy to supply samples if you get in touch of both upholstery and drapery fabrics, we are happy to give guidance on this wherever needed.

With window treatments, we are able to offer different options depending on your guests or diners experience in the setting, these include sheer curtains, solid curtains with borders and a range of pleat options, roller blinds, roman blinds for a contemporary feel with the option to have a blackout for the use of window treatments in bedrooms. Contact us to discuss anything you may need, thanks for reading.

Holy Smoke, Rotterdam

The exterior and interior of Holy Smoke are both truly eye catching and unusual. There are lots of colours used throughout wherever possible and contrasts nicely with the industrial finishes and furniture.

The chairs, barstools and tables are all connected with their cast iron frames and bases, complete with dark green leather upholstery and raw wood tops and seats. Styles are industrial as well as curved to offer a striking look especially combined with the tomato red painted metal framing the restaurant. The exterior seating is bright red and blue mesh, drawing attention to Holy Smoke from the outside and adding to the eccentricity of the place while remaining practical, these are similar to our Adria side chair , our Adria Tria Stool would also be a great economical option for the Bar.

Alston Bar & Beef, Glasgow

This restaurant with a clean crisp feel mixed with the curved ceilings and decorative murals has a surprisingly cosy feel. The walls are fresh and white and the scheme is punctuated with black seating, tables bases and floor tiles as well as the industrial staircase.

Simple round barstools are emphasised by led lighting emanating from beneath the sophisticated marble bar top. Seating is offered in the form of leather clad black armchairs with tufted banquette seating in marine blue, as well as show wood dining side chairs - simple while reflecting the scheme.

To prevent the interior from being to cold and industrial cut glass ceiling light shades and elaborate traditional thistles and magpies decorate the wall descending the staircase as the guests enter the restaurant.

We have updated a few of our collections, swapping a few styles for more price conscious and style relevant versatile pieces, we will be adding them to the site in the next few days!
